Before you begin
How sharing works
People in your organization can open the vault as soon as you add them. Anyone else gets an email and can open it once they accept.
Step 1: Open the Share dialog
Open the vault from Vaults in the sidebar, then press Share at the top right. The dialog lists everyone who can open the vault now, and the role each one has.
Step 2: Add people
Type a name or an email address. People in your organization appear as you type: pick one and press Add, and they can open the vault straight away. Anyone else gets an email invitation, and the button reads Invite.

Step 3: Choose their role
Next to each person, pick Contributor or Viewer. You can change it later from the same list.
| What they can do | Contributor | Viewer |
|---|---|---|
| Read files and shared chats | Yes | Yes |
| Start chats | Yes, using their own allowance | No |
| Add files | Yes | No |
| Share the vault | No, only the owner | No |
Step 4: Decide who else can open it
Under Who can open this vault, pick Private so only you and the people you added can open it, or Everyone in your organization. People you added keep their own role either way.
Note
Until someone outside your organization accepts, they show as Pending. You can Resend or Revoke the invitation from the same list.
Tip
What Bilby remembers in a shared vault stays in that vault. It doesn't carry into anyone's other chats.
Try it in Bilby
Open your vaults and press Share on the one you want to share.
You'll need to be signed in. It opens in a new tab, so this guide stays here.
