Before you begin
How a chat keeps going
Bilby keeps the chat's earlier questions and answers in mind, so a follow-up can be short: "And Singapore?" or "Put that in a table." You can also go back and change a question you already asked, and Bilby answers the new version beside the old one.

And how does Malaysia compare?
Step 1: Ask in the same chat
Type your next question in the box at the bottom and press Enter. Say only what's new; Bilby knows what you asked before.
Step 2: Or pick a follow-up
Under the answer, Follow-ups lists questions Bilby suggests next. Press one and Bilby sends it straight away. Press Follow-ups to hide the list, and again to show it.
Step 3: Change an earlier question
Point at your question and press Edit message, the pencil under it. The box says "Editing message…". Change the words and press Update message, or press Cancel edit to leave it as it was.
Bilby answers the new version. Your first version and its answer are kept: the arrows under your question, Previous alternative and Next alternative, switch between them, and the number between them, such as 2/2, says which one you're reading.
Step 4: Steer Bilby while it works
You don't have to wait for Bilby to finish. Type in the box while it works, then choose what your message does.

4| Press | Button | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Enter | Steer | Bilby takes your message into account at its next step, without starting over. |
| ⌘ Enter (Ctrl Enter on Windows) | Queue | Your message waits, marked Queued, and goes as your next question when Bilby finishes. |
| Enter in an empty box, then Enter again when it says "Press Enter again to stop" | Stop generating (the red square) | Bilby stops and keeps what it has done so far. |
Note
Files can't join work in progress: a message with a file attached is queued, and Enter queues it.
Tip
Moving on to a new subject? Press New chat in the sidebar. A chat can have one Radar topic, so keeping one subject per chat keeps its name and its Radar topic about one thing.
Try it in Bilby
Ask a question, then follow it up.
When the answer arrives, try "And how does Malaysia compare?" or press one of the Follow-ups.
